I like what it says in the poetry one about people being worried about their poems: ” it’s as though they’re going to visit a fearsome auntie and they think they’re going to do the wrong thing or speak too loudly or knock something over.” I’m a bit like that with poetry!
This is a project to commemorate WW1 by writing a letter to the Unknown Soldier – the statue on Paddington Station who is reading a letter. They’ll be published on the website above on 28th June, and then eventually be archived in The British Library.
I’ve discovered that on the Open University website there are lots of free short courses! These are extracts from their longer courses. There are exercises to do, but nothing is submitted or assessed so there’s no feedback or qualification, but it’s still interesting and worthwhile doing. I did this poetry one: Approaching Poetry.
